TUALATIN – Roll out the red carpet. Hollywood is coming to Tualatin.
On Oct. 23 and 24, cast and crew with the new Jennifer Aniston movie, “Management,” will be setting up to shoot scenes at two locations in the city.
Production crews with the film made visits to Tualatin Indoor Soccer and CI Bar & Grill this week to double-check site locations.
“We’re flattered,” said Monty Hawkins, owner of Tualatin Indoor Soccer. “It’s Hollywood in Tualatin basically.”
Hawkins said he has exchanged about 30 phone calls with production crews during the past two months. The crew had been looking at four or five other indoor soccer arenas to film at in the Portland area, Hawkins said, before deciding on his.
“It’s definitely something. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing,” Hawkins said.
David Phillips, owner of CI Bar and Grill, said Wednesday that he hasn’t finalized his involvement with the film yet, but crews are tentatively set to film a two-minute scene in his bar.
“Everyone’s got a little ego,” Phillips said, “and it’s nice to have your place picked. It’s like putting it on the map.”
While a majority of the filming for the Stephen Belber written-and-directed movie will be done in Central Oregon’s Madras, at least a few scenes are being shot in the Portland area.
Steve Oster, director of Oregon Film and Video Office, said Tuesday that “Management” production crews will be in the Portland area filming for the next four to six weeks.
The scene at the soccer arena, said Hawkins, will include Aniston, whose character plays soccer as an outlet. Local women on the arena’s women’s soccer team are being considered as players in the movie.
Phillips said the scene in his bar is supposed to show stars Aniston and Steve Zahn playing music on a jukebox and dancing. But even for such a short scene, Phillips said he plans to have his business closed for two days.
