Candidates unopposed in Tigard-Tualatin School District board election

ADVERTISEMENTS

Two long-time volunteers are running to fill open school board seats, and Barry Albertson is vying to return to the board for a third term.

Dana Terhune and Maureen Wolf filed for position three and position five of the board, respectively. No other candidates filed for either seat. Albertson, who has served on the board for eight years, is also running unopposed.

Dana Terhune

Terhune coordinates the after school program at Bridgeport Elemen-tary, and has previously served as the president of the Foun-dation for Tigard Tualatin Schools. She has two children, a fourth grader at Bridgeport and a sixth grader at Hazelbrook Middle School.

She said the budget crisis is the biggest issue on her mind. She said the budget issues bring up a difficult dilemma: trying to maintain quality schools, while there isn’t enough funding.

“Right now, it’s all about the school district, conserving the needs of our community,” she said.
