Crime Log: Tigard and Tualatin

The Tigard Police Department reported the following arrests between Nov. 17 through Nov. 24: violation of restraining order – 2; theft – 11; warrants – 11; driving with a suspended license – 1; drug related – 2; rape – 1; burglary – 1. Of these, one resulted in a juvenile arrest.

Tuesday, Nov. 24

- A fake prescription of Oxycodone was presented to a pharmacist at Walgreens, 13939 S.W. Pacific Highway. The customer used a false name on the prescription. The man was caught on video surveillance.

- A man in the 11400 block of 135th Avenue pulled a gun on a woman and then left in a gray Dodge Durango. Police followed the man – who was in the car with his father – to Fowler Middle School, when the man jumped out of the car and ran off.

Monday, Nov. 23

- A fight between a woman and her boyfriend in the 13100 block of Tamera Lane resulted in her stabbing him with a fireplace poker. The woman was, reportedly, very drunk. Police responded to a similar issue at the house the night before.

Sunday, Nov. 22

- While parked at the Edgewood Manor Apartments, at 14500 S.W. Hall Blvd., a man reported the driver’s side window of his 1999 BMW was broken and a cell phone, Louis Vuitton shoulder bag, leather jacket, gym bag and running shoes were stolen.

- The body of a 95-year-old man was found by his daughter-in-law in the 12000 block of 135th Avenue.

- Two people were taken into custody by Washington Square Mall security after stealing $56.

- Security officials at Washington Square Mall caught a woman attempting to steal a T-shirt from Abercrombie & Fitch at 9777 S.W. Washington Square Road. The woman returned the item in question and was allowed to leave without incident. After the woman left the store, employees found that the woman had slipped out of the store with three more shirts, leaving the security tags in the changing room.

- A person filling his car with gas at the 76 station at 12825 S.W. Pacific Highway drove off without paying for his gasoline. Gas station attendants had no description of the driver, car or license plate. The man stole less than $15 worth of gasoline.

Saturday, Nov. 21

- A man from the Edgewood Manor Apartments at 14500 S.W. Hall Blvd. called Tigard Police saying that someone may have forced their way into his apartment and stolen a pair of sunglasses, and other items, during the night. The sunglasses were later reported found in a trashcan along with a screwdriver which the man claimed was most likely intended to break into a washing machine.

n CDs were taken from a car in the 6900 block of Atlanta Street.

- The friend of a man in the 11500 block of 88th Avenue continuously left harassing messages on his friend’s cellular phone. The man left about 18 messages during the course of the day.

- Two women were seen fighting in the parking lot of Macy’s clothing store, 9300 Washington Square Road. One of the women was seen repeatedly punching the other woman in the face.

- An employee of Triple D Trucking at 14050 S.W. Pacific Highway called Tigard Police to report that another employee had stolen one of the company’s semi-trucks. He told police that the employee did not have permission to take the truck and refused to return it. Police called the accused thief, who told police that he had not stolen the truck, but had gotten dispatched to pick up another load in California. The truck was returned to the company.

n Several gun shots were reported near 72nd Avenue and Bonita Road. The shots came in quick succession, and the caller reported that it sounded like a semi-automatic weapon.

Friday, Nov. 20

- The body of a dead beaver was found in the 7800 block of Dartmouth Street, across from the Costco store.

- In the 12300 block of Hollow Lane, an entire house was egged. Police did not speculate on why the house received such tenacious treatment by the vandals.

- A man in the 12500 block of North Dakota Street called police to report that his 35-year-old son had launched a “cyber space attack on him.” The man asked for a stronger police presence around his home.

- When an elderly man in the 11200 block of Summerfield Drive went out to his car, he discovered that the car was not where he had parked it. Calling police, he told them that the car had been stolen. Police later learned that the man’s daughter had sold the car some time earlier, after her father had lost his license.

- Two gunshots were reported in the 9300 block of Inez Street.

Thursday, Nov. 19

- A man called the same wrong number approximately 15 times in a half-hour. People at the wrong number, a home in the 8900 block of Ashford Street, attempted to tell the man that he had the wrong number, but the man would say something in Chinese, hang up, and call back again.
