ADVERTISEMENTS
Oregon gubernatorial candidate and former Trail Blazer Chris Dudley will be the guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the Tigard/King City Republican Women's Club on Tuesday. The group's business meeting begins at 11 a.m. at the Hi Hat Restaurant, 11530 Pacific Highway in Tigard. Lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m., and the meeting is scheduled to be over around 1 p.m. The cost is $7.75. Those who wish to attend are asked to call Pat Meyers (503-684-1241) or Sue Miller (503-201-5107) prior to Saturday for reservations and to select their choice from the menu.
Tigard residents can get involved in their community, next week at the third annual Neighborhood Network Open House, Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event, which will take place at the Tigard library’s community room is a way for residents to learn more about Tigard’s Neighborhood Networks program — a community building program which splits the city into 13 “neighborhoods” that are able to earn grant money to help improve their communities. The networks also work as mouthpieces for concerned community members, and provide a way to communicate with the city of Tigard and members of the community.
Representatives from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Neighborhood Watch program, Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.), Capital Improvement Program and Tigard Turns the Tide will also be on hand to answer questions and listen to concerns.
