ALOHA — After a more than a week away from action, it could be expected that the Tigard High School softball team would have been a little rusty when it returned to play Tuesday in a non-league game with Aloha.
Nope. That certainly didn’t look to be the case.
The Tigers returned to action with their bats blazing, as they pounded out 14 hits as a team on their way to scoring a 7-1 victory in the contest played at Aloha High School.
Junior Katie Aden helped lead the Tigard hitting attack. She went 4-for-4 at the plate with a double and a triple. Freshman Jessica Lemieux went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple and junior Chelsea Biglow added a pair of hits.
Aden also pitched the first three innings of the game, with senior Ashley Suter throwing the final four frames.
With the win, Tigard improved to 6-2 on the season.
The Tigers are slated to return to action today (Thursday) when they host Westview in a non-league contest starting at 5 p.m. On Monday, Tigard opens Pacific Conference play with a 5 p.m. game at Newberg.
