A quick look at the Sherwood girls soccer team and the Class 5A state championship match

Good Sports

With 1 minute and 24 seconds left to play in overtime of Saturday’s Class 5A girls soccer state championship match, Sherwood sophomore forward Leanne Snyder fell to the turf after suffering a cramp in her right leg.

The first person over to check on her, and help her stretch out her leg was Bend senior defender Sara Gravelle.

“Bend was not only a very good team, but they were a class act as well,” Sherwood coach Bill Brown said. “That was an awesome act of sportsmanship.”
